Accelerating Climate and Water Action by Youth Leaders

Sri Lanka is second  on the global disaster risk index , there  is an imperative need for  wide scale advocacy for communities since agencies and officers alone cannot manage change.  There has to be a major shift in attitudes and systems  in communities  especially in supporting water security and  diminishing community water stress.  Youth are seen as the most appropriat4 catalysts .Therefore a  Citizen science program will be held for youth leaders in Matale  with the objective of proposing a Matale Climate Action Plan for youth groups. The activity will identify water stress  hotspots within the district and  produce a digital map of water security related hotspots to be updated as necessary.
