Joint Activity with Hatton National Bank

In February  this year ,SLWP  jointly with Hatton National Bank initiated a sanitation sensitization and hygiene  programme  for 4 schools in Aranayake that were adversely affected by the landslide last year . The programme focuses on improving access to education and better  living of school related communities through awareness creation and includes a component that provides for setting up of Rain Water Harvesting (RWH) Systems in these schools.

SLWP Partners Forum 2016

The 16th Annual Partners Forum was held on 20th December at The Galadari Hotel Colombo with 51 of our collaborating agencies and partners represented. The Chief Guest was Hon Gamini Jayawickreme Perera  Minster of Sustainable Development and Wild Life Conservation while the Keynote address was delivered by Ms Nina Brandstrup Acting Resident Coordinator UNDP.

Cap-Net Lanka – PGIA Junior Water Awards for Innovations in Schools and Competition in Aqua Republica

Cap-Net Lanka held the Aqua Republica educational game competition and Junior Water Award programme in-line with the Water Professionals’ Day on 01st of October at Postgraduate Institute of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. “ Mr Gardener”, an innovation from a school to apply urine with an automated collection, treatment and distribution system to plants in the garden as a fertilizer was awarded the first price.  Read full story…
