Post Of Country Coordinator

SLWP is a nonprofit NGO promoting Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) affiliated to   the Global Water Partnership (GWP) and GWP South Asia (GWP SAS). SLWP is currently is hosted by the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) at its headquarters in Sri Lanka. It is a volunteer organization focusing on water resources with special interest in supporting Sustainable Development Goal 6 (Water)and Goal13 (Climate Change) and gender youth and natural resources issues.  Its programmes cut across many sectors and SLWP works very closely with water and related sector state agencies and corporates.

The Country Coordinator SLWP is responsible inter alia for

  • Supervision of the small staff and office.
  • Preparation of Work Plans and Budgets including monitoring of implementation. (All financial matters are handled by IWMI the host institution)
  • Responsible for supervision/implementation of activities undertaken under Annual Work Plan and Budget
  •  Communicating with SLWP/GWP Partners and liaising with state and other institutions including corporates as required in furtherance of SLWP objectives
  • Communicating with the GWP SAS Regional Office also located at IWMI and with other Country Water Partnerships in the region on collective efforts and common issues as required
  • Convening meetings of SLWP Programme/ Steering Committees, Annual Partners Forum, keeping minutes and follow up on decisions.
  •  Any other matter pertaining to SLWP

Age limit and Reporting

While persons around 35-40 years are being considered, older candidates may be considered based on high credentials, matching skills and experience for appointment on a time share (No of person days) arrangement The Country Coordinator would report directly to Chair SLWP.


  • A graduate in Science, Engineering, Agriculture, Environment, Economics or Social Science, preferably with post graduate qualifications in water resources, IWRM or other water/environment related field with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in water / natural resources sector institutions and programmes. Exposure in an INGO/ NGO project environment is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills (Spoken & Written) in English
  • Ability to work on line and fully conversant with MS Office at minimum. SAP and other software advantageous.


All-inclusive allowance of up to Rs -75,000/-per month based on qualifications/experience on Renewable Contract basis.
